The DFFA represents its
members before Fire Administration, the City Manager’s
Office, the Mayor and City Council, as well as at the
State Legislature and before Congressional Representatives
and Senators. Our affiliation with the Texas State
Association of Fire Fighters (TSAFF) gives us a voice in
state government, while our affiliation with the
International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF) gives us
input at the national level. As a unified organization of
fire fighters we can exert greater influence on our
political representatives and afford greater protection
for our members.
DFFA members have the
assurance of knowing that they will be assisted with
grievances, disciplinary appeals and worker’s compensation
problems. Trained officers are available to accompany
members to hearings, assist in the preparation of appeal
letters and prepare cases. Legal counsel is provided in
more complex cases.
Over the years the Dallas
Fire Fighters Association has achieved a number of

The objective of the DFFA
shall be: The fostering and encouragement of a higher
degree of skill and efficiency, the cultivation of
friendship among its members, the elevation and
improvement of the morale, intellectual, social and
economic conditions of its members.
We shall not strike or
take part in any sympathetic strike, as our position is
peculiar to most organizations, as we are formed to
protect the lives and property of the community in case of
fire or other serious hazard.
This organization shall be
non-partisan and non-sectarian and shall not be used for
the dissemination of partisan or sectarian principles.
