From the time we hire on until the time we retire the decisions that affect our ability to do our jobs, to come home safely to our loved ones and receive the pay and benefits we deserve are ultimately made by elected officials—which is why participation in theDallas Fire PAC is really not an option.
The Dallas Fire PAC’s motto is “Supporting Our Supporters”.
It is our responsibility to educate both the voters of Dallas and elected officials about the public safety issues facing citizens and those of us on the front line. This is why we must be involved in the political process whenever public safety and firefighter issues are being deliberated.
Our PAC’s efforts, be they in the form of direct contributions to campaigns or informative mailers sent to voters in support of our endorsed candidates, are vital to these ongoing efforts. But it takes money to pay for our PAC’s initiatives, which is why the Dallas Fire PAC needs your support!
The DFFA wants to clarify to everyone who contributes to our PAC that we are very aware of the fact that our members have diverse political views on a wide range of issues—our PAC assists and contributes to candidates regardless of their party affiliation and we only concern ourselves with issues that directly impact the ability of our members to do their job.
Likewise, please note that none of the funds from the Dallas Fire PAC go to any state or national political organizations; fire or otherwise. This money is only used to assist and elect candidates who represent some portion of the City of Dallas or on ballot issues that in some way affect our department and our members—again; we only support those who support us!
To date, less than half of our Association members give to the Dallas Fire PAC (in many departments right here in the Metroplex, that number is 80 to 90 percent). Please take a few minutes to download and review the application form that is provided here.
Your minimum contribution of just $10 a month will allow our PAC to better fulfill its mission of “Supporting Our Supporters” and increasing our Association’s effect on policies that affect us all.
Please note that our new certification pay can be directly attributed to the efforts of our PAC!
